A must visit place in Québec by the Sea route. The views never disappoint you. You need to book the boat ride to the island in advance though.
Amazing location. It's been on my life list and I almost did not see any due to weather. Perroquets and Ile Nue were cancelled due to torrential rain. I could not reschedule the next day due to high wind. Finally in my last day in the area, the weather broke and I got to see Quarry and Niapiskau. So beautiful. I would loved to have stayed longer, but I took what I could get. The Parks Canada guidea were very informative. Dress warm and in layers. It's very cold and wet on the boats and then you heat up walking around the islands.
This island is beautiful. You can take a hike on the beach to go see the monoliths while encountering marine wildlife.
Want to escape crowds? This is the park you should go to. Amazing rock formations and nice eerie foggy mornings.
I was reading all the reviews because I am planning to go but I'd like to know when it's the best month to go (no rain). The comments are very encouraging and motivating. I can't wait to be there.
Great experience! Love spending time on the islands . Perfect set-up by parcs Canada great walking trails.
Long drive from Montreal but worth it. WOW
Beautiful islands with unique rock formations that would rival the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Cappadoccia, Turkey.
We took boat tours that brought us to Ile Nue, Ile Quarry, Ile Niapiskau, and Ile Peroquets (which has no rock formations but has a lighthouse and is also a bird sanctuary). All are spectacular. Boat tours are a must-do.
We also stayed two nights at an Oasis (a Parks Canada mini-cottage with solar lighting, propane heating, and BBQ but no electrical or water system). We got to the island through a boat taxi. This is a superb option for non-campers like us but its main drawback is that reaching the camp from the boat drop-off is a long and very rough walk to carry your bags. But the views around the island are all incredible. Highly recommended.
Amazing island to camp on!!
Park is super clean and the trails are well made. Park info center employees are sometimes a little too clueless about the tours but the guides on-site seem more than adequate.
